The Asian Arab Institute of Diplomacy offers a
distinguished, well-rounded doctoral program that provides a distinctive and
stimulating intellectual environment for the in-depth, multidisciplinary study
of diplomacy and international relations.
Through rigorous independent research and practical
application, the Doctor of International Relations and Diplomacy (AAID) program
combines academic brilliance. Two different modalities are used to award PhD
degrees:

Research's DIR
Students can choose to complete their doctoral program remotely through the
GSD-DIR research program. The curriculum lasts for three years and earns 240
ECTS.

Post-Doctoral Fellowship Description of the position
The
Global Research Center (GRC) gives teachers and students the tools they need to
change the world. We are a multidisciplinary center that applies academic
research to practical issues, investing in exceptional faculty and student
scholars to spark fresh ideas and develop the next wave of world leaders. GRC
attracts top-notch researchers, encourages intellectual diversity, and offers
graduate students, particularly those from underrepresented groups, mentored
research opportunities. The Institute's strategy for fostering and growing
applied research enables scholars to push boundaries and generate significant
findings both at GRC and outside. The Institute oversees a number of research
initiatives, the largest of which is Aid Data and the majority of which are
grant-funded.
The Diplomacy Project
is a flourishing endeavor inside GRC, and the postdoctoral scholar will be a
key partner on it. In order to better understand how diplomacy affects deterrence,
escalation, and international security, this project combines the Political
Psychology and International Relations (PPIR) research lab with GRC's NukeDate
center. The Diplomacy Project is leading the way in the study of crisis
diplomacy, digital diplomacy, and face-to-face diplomacy with a vibrant team of
faculty, undergraduate research fellows, and other partners.
In order to be appointed as mentors, the postdoctoral scholar will collaborate closely with the Center directors and academic staff members as an equal partner in developing and carrying out the research agenda. This entails creating and putting into practice new predictive empirical models, researching diplomatic efforts through case studies, examining data on diplomatic visits and digital diplomacy, and interacting with practitioners in various settings. The Fellow will be able to coach a group of driven undergraduate researchers, suggest new lines of inquiry, and participate in publications and presentations.

The Executive Diploma in Cultural Diplomacy, International Relations, and Global Governance
The Executive Diploma
in Cultural Diplomacy, International Relations, and Global Governance is offered
by AAID Program for Professional Development in International Relations,
Global Governance, and Cultural Diplomacy
The specialist courses in this executive diploma program are intended to give participants a thorough understanding of cultural diplomacy as international organizations and global governance institutions worldwide apply it.
The curriculum places special focus on the function of cultural diplomacy in global governance, which aims to enhance cross cultural understanding and promote more efficient collaboration at the political, economic, and cultural levels.
The program focuses on global governance institutions, particularly the UN, EU, and African Union, and offers a comprehensive overview of cultural diplomacy through a historical and case study approx., emphasizing the role and potential of cultural diplomacy in enhancing global governance.
The eight courses
will be taught over around one month, and then there will be a sponsored
research assignment that must be turned in within three months. After a final
research paper has been submitted and evaluated, the final certificate will be
given out. The program has a hybrid approach, offering the option of finishing
all courses online or attending an in-person 10- to 12-day program in New Delhi
or in Dubai.
The program that UNITAR and ICD are proposing will enable
participants to take advantage of the many modalities and seminars offered by
their respective expertise. In order to support the program, UNITAR will
arrange seminars for each participant. UNITAR will coordinate four (4) of the
eight (8) modules that make up the curriculum. Both synchronous and
asynchronous formats will be used for the programs. There will be a virtual platform
for all UNITAR modules.
AAID will supply the four modules listed below:
Module 1: The Development and History of Cultural
Diplomacy
The course offers a thorough review of the theory,
modules, background, and development of cultural diplomacy as an activity
centered on cross-cultural interactions between states and peoples. The
concepts, modules, and operation of cultural diplomacy are analyzed in this
course, which also establishes the foundation for comprehension. As well as how
different agents (like State Actors, Non-State Actors, and Global Governance
Institutions) and tools (like the arts, music, sports, media, religion, and
interfaith dialogue) contributed to these attempts, the historical background
of various cultural diplomacy attempts—both successful and unsuccessful—is
presented.
Module 2: Applied Cultural Diplomacy:
Global Case Studies Participants in the course will gain
knowledge of current cultural diplomacy approaches and how cultural diplomacy
is applied differently around the world. The course will cover a wide range of
case studies and cultural diplomacy tactics that may be used in both bilateral
and multilateral relations frameworks and in a variety of global settings and
scenarios. Case studies of cultural diplomacy in the governmental, private, and
civil society sectors worldwide will be analyzed in this course. Participants
will use empirical methodologies to analyze these case studies, paying special
attention to the players, organizations, goals, timeframe, target audience, and
methodology. The external elements that influence a nation's approach to
cultural diplomacy will be covered throughout the course such as the history,
foreign policy objectives and priorities, economic structure, political culture,
and geostrategic location.
Module 3: Upcoming Developments in Cultural Diplomacy and
International Relations
This course will examine how much the globalization
process will impact how cultural diplomacy and international relations are
conducted in the future. It will also look at how cultural diplomacy can
function in a world that is changing dramatically, taking into account factors
like globalization, geopolitical shifts, climate change, population growth,
growing wealth and poverty disparities, and international efforts to achieve
sustainable development. In addition to critically evaluating new forms of
cultural diplomacy for the public, private, and civil society sectors,
participants will consider and analyze how future trends in cultural diplomacy
relate to issues like globalization, multiculturalism & interdependence,
and global governance.
Module 4: Global Governance
The concept of global
governance, as well as the several approaches and agendas created for this aim,
will be introduced. It is a summary of the current scholarly discussions
surrounding the multidisciplinary investigation of global governance within the
framework of globalization. In addition to examining opposing viewpoints on
globalization and global governance, it also looks at the origins and effects
of global power and authority as well as the major players, organizations,
regimes, and standards of global governance. The course will include real-world
examples that illustrate these ideas. Concepts will be examined to assist

An AAID Diploma International in Asian Arab Cultural Diplomacy

Description of the Course:
The goal of the course is to teach students about the
